Epidural Injections
An epidural injection is used to help reduce the pain caused by a herniated disc, degenerative disc disease or spinal stenosis. Epidural injections are temporary and must be combined with a comprehensive rehabilitation program.
When Dr. Cohen performs an epidural injection, he will insert a needle into the epidural space in the spine, hence the name of the procedure. The injection will consist of either a steroid or a solution containing a steroid with a local anesthetic.
The injection will provide temporary pain relief to the lower back for a typical period of one month to a year. If you feel you are a possible candidate for epidural injections in our Bergen County Clinic, call our office and schedule a consultation with the doctor.
