Spinal Decompression in Closter, NJ (Bergen County)
Non-surgical spinal decompression utilizes a machine, in this case the DRX9000, to gently stretch the spine. The light traction will slowly take pressure off of the spinal discs which can help promote the movement of oxygen, water, and nutrient rich fluid into the discs in order for them to heal.
How is Spinal Decompression Performed?
During the decompression therapy you, the patient, will be fully clothed. Dr. Cohen or his highly trained staff will position you into the machine whereby the doctor will then operate the computer in order to customize the treatment to meet your individual needs.
The treatment takes anywhere from 20-45 minutes depending upon each patient’s need and will usually last anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks.

The DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine
The DRX9000 uses a computerized servomechanism to allow precise control of the amount of decompressive force, control over the exact angle to target specific spinal structures and a bladder to maintain the natural lordotic curve. When you come in for treatment, you will first need to be cleared for general medical contraindications. Treatments are painless and without any complications, most patients notice their pain begin to subside after the first few sessions. If these treatments with the DRX9000 are being delivered on a consistent basis, then by week two there will be significant improvement.
